Linda "Missy" Canada

Linda “Missy” Canada went home to be with the Lord March 22nd 2024. Missy was born November 23rd 1963 in Grundy, VA to the late Betty Kay McClanahan Skeens and Raymond Donald Skeens. Missy was the owner and operator of Canada’s Cash Store in Delbarton, WV. She genuinely loved her customers and cared deeply for her community. Missy is preceded in death by her grandparents Lula McClanahan and James McClanahan, who she made a home with for many years. She is also preceded in death by a very special uncle, Jerry McClanahan who was a father figure to her…a special mother in law Virginia “Maw” Canada. Maw and Missy would have conversations lasting for hours on an almost daily basis. Many other family members of hers have went home to be with the Lord. Missy is having a reunion with those family members and our Heavenly Father right now. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters Jess (John) Canterbury and Cass (Kevin) Ball. Jess was her mother’s caretaker for many years. Cass and her mother were each others support systems. Missy made her girls her life. She always put them before anything. Missy had a special son, Brayden Isiah Glen. Brayden always helped her and will always be “her baby”. Grandchildren Bryce, Brylee, and Jace, who referred to her as “Mimi”. Bryce and Jace are her Princes. Brylee is her one and only princess. Myla Canada, Braxton Canada and Brennic Blankenship held a very special place in her heart. They all love Mimi dearly…ex-husband and close friend Glen Dale Canada, the father of her children…April Blankenship who she loved as if she were her own daughter. She always bragged about the delicious meals April would prepare for her and absolutely loved their talks. Due to failing health she was unable to attend her home church, Matewan Church of God. But she always loved and missed brother David and sister Linda Smith, along with her entire church family. She was so excited about the online Faith Connection Prayer and Praise group that she and her best friend Kimberly Sartin created. Over time she developed a close friendship with many members. Other close friends include Candice Branham, Lacy Burns, Gina Mounts, Louella Mattingly, and Lisa Copley. Missy also developed a friendship with the AFR employees who transported her to all of her appointments. AFR became her second family. What Missy enjoyed most was talking about the mercy and love of Jesus. Her biggest desire was for the world to serve God and give him the praise and honor He deserves. She desperately wanted to see her children and grandchildren saved. Missy will be missed by her family and friends that she loved so much. Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Dale Canada, Kevin Ball, Brayden Canada, Bryce Canada, Brennic Blankenship, Jordan Kolffe, John Canterbury, Nate Mattingly Scott Clevenger, Clint Baisden and honorary pallbearer Jace Hensley. Services will be held at Chafin Funeral Home chapel March 26, 2024 from 6-9 PM followed by service March 27, 2024 at 11:00AM. Missy's final resting place will be 928 Beechwood Dr, Dandridge TN. A place she longed to be and is now finally going to where she called home. Graveside service will be held Thursday March 28th at 12:00pm.
