Jeffie Robinette

Jeffie was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather who always beamed with joy when he talked about his family. He was a proud coal miner and a lover of bluegrass music. Spending time with him reveals a kind and compassionate man and to know him was to love him. He went to be with the Lord December 27th 2024 surrounded by family at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on Road Branch, West Virginia on April 3rd 1940 to Lee and Effie Robinette. Jeffie worked in Ohio and would hitchhike to West Virgina to bring back his earnings. He would use them to provide for his parents and siblings. He attended Road Branch Grade School until the sixth grade but despite leaving school at a young age he was an incredibly smart man. He could build or fix anything by looking at the parts and piecing them together. He took pride in being an electrician in the coal mines and being able to fix anything they needed. Jeffie met the love of his life Loretta Gauze at a very young age. In May of 1966 they were married and shared 58 beautiful years together. They welcomed four children into the world shortly after being married. Jeffie is survived not only by his wife Loretta but also by his children who meant the world to him. Penny (Eric) Glasgow of Seymor, Tennessee, Jeffery (Ashley) Robinette of Logan, West Virginia, Regina (Steve) Mounts of Claremont, North Carolina and Kevin (Wendy) Robinette of Hickory, North Carolina. Jeffie's favorite role was being a grandfather and great grandfather. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Papaw. Megan (Jeff) Goff of West Virginia, Jordan (Jordan) Johnson of South Carolina, Zach Browning of Virginia, Clay (Natalie) Fields of North Carolina, Jp (Sydni) Robinette of Kentucky and Caleb (Ava) Robinette of Kentucky. He was also survived by his great-grandchildren Hudson Goff, Hadley Goff, Jett Johnson, Lainey Fields, Ryder Robinette, Remi Robinette, Liam Robinette, Baylor Fletcher and Raynlee Robinette. And he was an adopted dad/grandfather to Brittany Thacker, Kason Thacker and Gaytha Hensley. He also had one special friend Roger Workman who he loved every visit so they could talk about the coal mines, Jeffie looked forward to carrying on the family tradition and hosting a church memorial service each year with Ajax Church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Lee Robinette. His brothers Carlos, Homer, Arville, and Walter . His sisters Nelly, Maxine, Lucille, Lottie, Carol Sue and Wanda. And his grandson Codey Fields. He is survived by his brother Jimmy and sister Bonnie. Jeffie will always be remembered for his big smile and kind heart. We couldn't have asked for a better husband, parent and grandparent and we will miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12:00pm with Rev. Albert Goble and Rev. Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinette Cemetery at Road Branch, WV. Visitation will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening from 6-9pm. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Chafin Funeral Home is proudly serving the Robinette Family.
