Dover Lee McCoy

Dover Lee McCoy of Right Fork of Laurel Creek departed from this life at the young age of 47 on Sunday, March 31, 2024 while at home. He was born on August 2, 1976 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Harold and Betty McCoy. Along with his loving parents, Dover Lee is welcomed into his eternal home by his special friend of many years, Johnny Mack Bryant, with whom he often rode dirt bikes with. Those left behind to cherish the memory of Dover Lee include his loving wife Jequita McCoy, his son Derek Blevins, his daughter Janell Paige Scott, his grandchildren Rhylee, Grace, Conner, Asher, Kabri, Josie, and Bella, his sisters Missy (Raymond) Maynard of Lenore, Deana (Odell) Baisden of Breeden, Cathy (Jeff) Balentine of East Kermit, Teressa McCoy of Kermit, and Lora Skeens of Williamson, and his brother Harold (Deanna) McCoy of Lenore. He also leaves behind his special friends Ernie Jewell, Derek Curry, and Jay Chapman, and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Dover Lee was a man of many talents. He worked as a carpenter for many years, partnering with his absolute best friend Joe Hatfield, and working together under the name “Hatfield & McCoy Carpentry”. Many considered him to be a “MacGyver” because he could do almost anything and everything. Dover Lee was a true handyman and had a God given talent in his work. He was a loving husband, brother, father, papaw, and friend who will be very dearly missed by all who knew him. Services for Dover Lee will be held at Victory Christian Center in Lenore, West Virginia. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 6:00pm with a special service beginning at 7:00pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, April 5th, 2024 at 12:00pm with Pastor Terry Blankenship officiating. Burial will be to follow at the Evans Cemetery, located at Right Fork of Laurel Creek. Pallbearers will be Ernie, Ray, Devin, Dustin, Eddie, Eric, Chase, Byron, and Dominic while honorary pallbearers will be Joe, Raymond, Jeff, and Odell. In lieu of flowers, donations for the services of Dover Lee can be made to Chafin Funeral Home.
