Wilma Jean (Adkins) Lucas of Lenore, WV, went home to be with her Lord, March 4, 2018 while a patient at the Pikeville Medical Center. Wilma was the most selfless person, giving of herself to family, friends and strangers. Along with her devoted husband Danny Kay, she ran the Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church food pantry, loving and feeding countless people. Wilma never met a stranger, loving all those she met. She spent many years taking care of the ill and dying. Wilma enjoyed church services and worshiping her Lord. She attended the Rawl Freewill Baptist Church. Wilma was born August 16, 1949 in Holden, WV. She is preceded in death by her father; Raymond Arvil Adkins and his wife, Thena Adkins, sister; Elsie June (Adkins) Collins, brother; James Tomblin and step-father; Eddie Gillman. Those left behind to cherish her memories include her mother; Lillie Gillman, her loving husband of 51 years; Danny Kay Lucas, her children; Sabrina and her husband Tim Runyon, Danny and his wife Vanessa Lucas, Leslie and her husband Mike Brown and Tracy Lucas. Wilma was the proud Mamaw of Brandon (Tabith Stricklin) Ward, Timothy (Deven) Runyon, Justin (Katlin) Runyon, Aaron and Noah Lucas and Dylan Brown. She was great-Mamaw to Emmett Kage Runyon. She also leaves behind a host of brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff of Pikeville Medical Center and the employees of the South Williamson Food City. Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday March 7, 2018 at 11:00am with Rev. Mike Smith and Rev. Danny Lucas Jr. Officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery at Hensley Big Branch, WV. Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel Tuesday evening from 6-9pm with services starting at 7:00pm.
