Ruth Farley

August 1, 1921 - July 5, 2016

Ruth Farley 94 of Huntington, WV formerly of Delbarton passed away July 5, 2016 at her home. She was born Aug. 1, 1921 in Logan Co., to the late Willis and Ida Pearl Chafin Hatfield. She was the granddaughter of William Anderson Hatfield. She was also preceded death by her husband, Howard Farley on Aug. 30, 1993., sister, June Hatfield Rutherford, brother, John Hatfield, half-sister Alice Halstead, half-brother, Joe Hatfield. Ruth lived in Huntington most of her life and was the co-owner of the Guyan Trading Post. In her retirement years she enjoyed going to church, reading and shopping. She loved to send cards to everyone. She was a member of the Vincent Memorial Church of Huntington. She is survived by her niece Judy Rutherford Merritt Morgan of Chicago, Ill., nephew, Matthew Rutherford and wife Sharon of Columbus, OH, their children, William Willis (Trish) Rutherford and their children Onica and Ilya and Eric (Michelle) Rutherford and their children, Rachel, Ryan and Robert and Sarah Riley Rutherford. Many Farley relatives also are survived. Funeral services will be held Friday July 8, 2016 at 11:00am at the Chafin Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Hall Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the start of the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Elk Creek, WV. Her love for animals was evident as she has asked for donations to be made in lieu of flowers to the Little Victory Animal Shelter in Huntington, WV. She will be missed by all who knew her especially her care giver Brenda Davis and her friends at High Lawn Place. She was a beloved Aunt and a good friend with a big heart.
