Mary Marie (Ooten) Hunt

October 10, 1952 - April 9, 2022

Mary Marie (Ooten) Hunt, 69 of Belo, WV passed on to her heavenly home on April 9, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Where she will join all her loved ones that have passed on before her. Mary was born October 10, 1952 to Mose & Lydia Runyon. Mary was a devoted Christian, Prayer Warrior, woman of God. She had love and compassion like no other, she loved with all her heart and soul. She was a member of the Duncan Fork House of Prayer. Pastor Roger T. Ooten. She is preceded in death by her parents Mose and Lydia Runyon, brother Bert Runyon, sister Betty Marcum, Her Sister and best friend Shirley Ooten when you seen one you seen both, they’re reunited again. Her loving husband of 42 years Jody Ooten Jr. and then her husband of 1 year (they were also childhood sweethearts) Tommy Hunt. Those left to cherish her memory her 4 Godchildren: Susan Kirk, Amanda (Baldie) Marcum, Jonathan (Megan) Kirk, and Jodi Marcum. She loved them like they were her own, they were her babies. her sisters Ida Evans, Nora (Jackie) Meade Brother-in-law Julian Ooten all of Belo, WV, Sister-in-law Pastor Kathy Runyon of Marysville, OH. Sister-in-laws Vicie (Dennie) Evans, Barb Thomas, brother-in-laws Lester Marcum, Bill (Tonga) Hunt, Benny Hunt, and Mike (Brenda) Hunt. David (Charlene) Hunt, special great-nephew and niece Joshua Marcum, and Johannah Kirk, step-grandson she adored Owen Hunt, 2 stepsons T.J. (Beth) Hunt and Beaver (Megan) Hunt, Nieces and nephews Randy, Lydia, Bert Jr., and Leslie, Her Best friend Sharon (Ermal) Vance. Church friends/prayer warriors Little Arisba Martin, Kim Sartin, Judy Adams, Debbie Ooten, Dawn Preece, Heather Martin, Tammy Whitt, Kay Runyon and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers: Bryant Runyon, Chevy, Dillon, Todd Holland. Dalton Hatfield, and Hemmi Mullins. The family would like to give a special thanks to Megan Kirk for all she has done for Mary and the family. Funeral services will be held at the Duncan Fork House of Prayer on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 1:00pm with Rev. Roger Ooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Runyon Family Cemetery at Belo, WV. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 11:00am until the start of the funeral at 1:00pm. Chafin Funeral Home is proudly serving the family.
