Connie (Damron) Hatfield Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Connie (Damron) Hatfield, 74 of Varney, WV passed away at her home, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 after a lingering illness. Connie was born March 21, 1948 in Hampden, WV daughter of the late Charles Edward and Addie Emelene Bradford Damron. She attended Magnolia High School where she met and eventually married the love of her life, Herbert Akers Jr. After being married for 17 years, she moved to Hendersonville, TN where a tragic car accident took her husband’s life. Connie returned and became the wife of Bryant Hatfield until his death in 2011. Connie is survived by her sister, Brenda Gayle Davis and her husband, John Edward, whom she thought of as a brother. She also leaves behind her precious niece, Kim Davis Smith and her husband Jonnie Mike Smith and their children whom she adored greatly, Addie and Blake Smith. Connie was a lighthearted soul who enjoyed the company of others. She took pride in making the home, loved to read and joke a lot with her friends. We will think of her fondly and miss her every day. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at 1:00pm with Rev. Dallas Rife officiating at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00pm until the start of the funeral service at 1:00pm. Chafin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
