Colby Marcum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Colby Marcum 55 of Delbarton, WV passed away May 15, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Colby was severely sick with black lung disease. He was born August 22, 1966 in Williamson, WV the son of the late Nettie Hall Davis and is survived by his dad, Colby Marcum Sr. of Logan, WV. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kip Mahon and Roger Marcum and sister, Thelma Jean Fleming. Colby was a disabled coal miner. He worked most of his life in the coal mines. He loved riding his side by side and hunting and fishing. He loved being in the outdoors. His family was his life. Colby graduated from Burch High School in 1984. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his Loving wife, Barbie Hinkle Marcum, dad, Colby Marcum Sr., sons, Timothy James Marcum, Steven Ray Marcum and Colby David Marcum, brother, Ricky Sheppard and his wife, Ruth, sisters, Sandra Holbrook, Dora Crum and Marlene and husband David Crum, grandchildren Timothy James Marcum Jr., Aden Marcum and Hannah Marie Marcum, special friends, Dennis and Rhonda Hall. Colby also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in the Hinkle Cemetery at Taylorville, WV. Pallbearers will be Colby’s Friends. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00pm till the start of the funeral at 1:00pm. Chafin Funeral Home is proudly serving the Marcum and Hinkle Family.
