Rex Cisco

Rex Cisco 67 of Varney, WV passed away December 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Rex was born October 24, 1955 at South Williamson, KY. He was the son of the late Jans Cisco and his survived by his mother, Sylvia Hatfield Cisco of Delbarton, WV. In addition to his dad, Rex was also preceded in death by brothers; Danny Michael Cisco and Jan Keith Cisco, sister; Janus Denise Cisco, nephew; Ricky Allen Cisco and mother and father-in-law; Herb and Goldie Mahon. Rex worked for 19 years in the coal mines. He was a member of the UMWA Local 8840. He also worked for 10 years for the Mingo County Board of Education as a school bus driver. Rex was a member of the North Matewan Church of Christ. In his retired years he loved to sit on the porch while it was raining and watching the squirrels on a clear day. He also loved to watch Westerns. In his spare time he liked to find old cars and lawn mowers to work on. He loved to go watch his grandson Travis play football and ride his dirt bike. He was a devoted Husband, Dad and great Papa. In addition to his mother, Sylvia Cisco, Rex is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; Sherrilynn Mahon Cisco, son; Clifton Daniel and his wife Megan, daughter; Tara Beth Tincher and her husband, Rod, brothers; Jerry Dale Cisco and his wife Rhonda and Michael Dale Cisco, sister; Earnestine Harmon and her husband Ralph, sister-in-law; Cindy Cisco, grandchildren; Aaron, Brayden, Brystil, Rosslynn Cisco and Travis Colton Tincher, great-grandchild; Gabriella Cisco, brothers and sisters in-law; Burns and Mirt Diamond, Rocky and Teresa Hatfield, Tim and Ramona Mahon and Jerry Mahon. Rex will be missed by many nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles and friends. The family would like to thank Terri Fields and Dignity Hospice for doing such a great job during this time. Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00pm with Brother Rocky Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Duty Cemetery at Ragland, WV. Visitation will take place at the funeral home Friday morning from 11:00am until the start of the funeral services at 1:00pm. Special loved ones and friends dear to Rex will serve as pallbearers.
