Helen Jo Varney

Helen Jo Varney 82 of Varney, WV passed away suddenly on November 6, 2022 at her home following an automobile accident. She was born May 16, 1940 at Ragland, WV the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Mahon Stumbo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; James Henry Varney, son; Michael “Mouse” Cooper, daughter; Lisa Varney, brothers; Jim Stumbo and Jess Crum and sisters; Peggy Browning and Nellie Justice. Helen was a member of the Regional Church of God. She loved her family and was a mother to everyone. She never met a stranger. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always had a kind word and a hug for you when you were in her presence. Helen is survived by her children; Diann and her husband Everette Hannah and Teresa and her husband Larry Miranda, sister; Pauline and husband Homer Gilman, Special Uncle whom she thought of as her brother; Rush Farley “Doc” and his wife Nellie Stumbo, grandchildren; Kimberly (Troy) Jarrell, Stephanie (Jody) Woolum, Serena (James) McCoy, Tommy Mahon, Dustin (Launa) Wicker, Evette (Chase) Williamson, Adam Wicker, Dwayne Cooper, Dalton (Shonda) Cooper and her favorite, her baby; Austin Varney, great-grandchildren; Kinley, Kyleigh Jo and Kelsey Cooper, Zachary Fowler, Dane and Shae Wicker, Jo-Brayden, Caden and Kiera Woolum, Lexie Mapes, Cruz and Bentley Williamson, Myles Cooper, Kane Mahon and Cierra and Mason Conley, special nephew; Darrell (Tory) Justice, special friends; Mary Jessie and Patty Copley, Special Nieces; Davina and Delena, Special cousin; Steve Stumbo, Mike Pigman was very dear to her heart and brothers and sisters-in-law; Judy Stumbo, Clayburn Varney, Minta Gilman, Glenna Robinson, Terry Pigman and Mary Flores. Funeral services will be held at the Regional Church of God in Delbarton on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 12:00pm with Rev. Mitchell Bias, Rev. Eric Bias and Pastor Terry Pigman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY. Visitation will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law. Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton is proudly serving the Family.
