Estella June Canterbury

Estella June Canterbury, 73, of Delbarton, WV passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025 surrounded by family and holding the hand of the love of her life. She was born April 25, 1952 to the late Jack and Ruth Carroll. June was a woman known for her boundless love, warm spirit and the way she made feel like family. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to Percy Canterbury Sr the absolute love of her life. Together they built a beautiful legacy filled with laughter, strength and love. She was a devoted mother to Percy Jr (Rita) Canterbury of Ben Creek, Cheryl (Dennis) Compton of Stowe, Donetta (Dave) Huddle of Delbarton, and Stacy (Ray) Bailey of Kingston, TN. Her heart swelled with pride for her 11 grandchildren. Tra (Kadie) Compton, Austin (Kate) Compton, Shelina (Teddy ) Mounts, Joe (Cayla) Canterbury, Travis (Daryan) Compton, Zena Bailey, Nick (Destiny) Canterbury, Matthew Bailey, Scott Canterbury, Dakota Huddle, and Benjamin Bailey. She was also blessed with 13 great grandchildren. Aleeyah Hill, Lilly Compton, Jordyn Canterbury, Creed Compton, Christian Mounts, Kinsley Compton, Thaxxus Compton, DJ Canterbury, Scarlett Canterbury, Madyson Compton, Lottie Compton, Georgia Compton and Maddy Canterbury. June is survived by her loving sister, Wanda (Wink) Mahon of Delbarton and two brothers, Homer (Delores) Carroll of Sevierville, TN and Jack Carroll of Ragland, WV. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Farley and Buck Carroll, and a sister-in-law, Connie Carroll. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly and a special sister in law, Rita Justice; also her best friend, Daisy Cote. June never met a stranger. Whether at home in WV or out and about, you were bound to hear someone calling out "MAMA JUNE". She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and important. Her home, like her heart, was always open. She will be remembered for her fierce love unforgettable laugh and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. June’s memory will live on in the lives she touched and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. She was and will always be her husband Percy's angel. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in June. Spend a day with your parents/grandparents or loved ones, just as she loved more anything. Services will be announced at a later date.
