Elizabeth Hall

Elizabeth "Libby" Fields Hall, 68, of Delbarton, West Virginia, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, while a patient at Cabell Huntington Hospital, following a courageous battle. She was born on February 16, 1958, in South Williamson, Kentucky, to the late Zion Clarence "Buck" Fields and Alice Marie Fields. Libby was the devoted wife of Orville Hall, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and faith. In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Hazel Hall; her brother, Grover Fields; her sister-in-law, Carol Carver; and her brothers-in-law, Edward Meiman, Robert Adkins, Roger Hackney, and James Chafin. Libby was a proud 1976 graduate of Burch High School and later fulfilled her dream of becoming a cosmetologist after graduating from Appalachian Beauty School in 2001. She owned and operated Classic Hair Designs in Williamson before relocating the salon to Delbarton, where she faithfully served her clients until her retirement. A devoted member of Caney Church of Christ, Libby lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She dedicated her life to raising her daughters, Wendee and Amanda, who were the pride of her heart. Becoming "Granny" was one of life's greatest blessings, and her grandchildren filled her days with immeasurable joy. She cherished the special relationships she shared with her sons-in-law, Jimmy and Casey. Friday evenings were often spent cheering on her favorite racing team—and especially her favorite crew chief, Jimmy. Libby loved to share time and coffee in the kitchen with Casey. Libby found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved making crafts, tending her flower beds and garden, preserving the harvest through canning, preparing meals for those she loved, camping with family, and attending NASCAR races. Whether surrounded by flowers, gathered around the dinner table, or enjoying time outdoors, Libby's greatest joy was being with the people she loved most. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Orville Hall; her daughters, Wendee (Jimmy) Villeneuve of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Amanda (Casey) Oates of Troutman, North Carolina; her sisters, Cheryl Lynn Meiman of Louisville, Kentucky, and Sharon Adkins of Delbarton, West Virginia; her brother, David (Teresa) Thompson of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky; her sisters-in-law, Deborah Fields and Saundra Chafin, both of Delbarton, West Virginia, and Elizabeth Hackney of Phelps, Kentucky; her brother-in-law, Joe Carver of South Shore, Kentucky; her beloved granddaughter, Andee Marie Villeneuve; her grandsons, William Lee, Dawson Wade, and James Robert Oates; and a host of nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as "Aunt Lib." Above all else, Libby loved the Lord. Her steadfast faith was the foundation of her life and a source of strength that carried her through every season. Her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Chafin Funeral Home Chapel in Delbarton, West Virginia, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Dennis Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher, West Virginia, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at Graceful Gatherings Event Center in Naugatuck. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
