Edith White

Edith White, 91, of Delbarton, West Virginia, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, October 10, 2024 while at Tug Valley Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky. She was born on April 13, 1933 to the late Clyde Henry and Louise White Childress in Parsley, West Virginia. Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, William J. White, her brothers, Johnny Childress, Nick Childress, Burl Childress, George Childress, Albert Childress, and Elmer Childress, her sister, Faye Marcum, and her grandson, J.R. Baisden. For many years, she worked as a Dietician at Williamson Memorial Hospital. She was well known for her heart of gold and dedication to The Lord. Edith was a faithful member of the Laurel Creek Freewill Baptist Church for most of the later part of her life. Being saved at just 16 years old, she proved her faithfulness to The Lord through her good works. She loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, and cooking. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharon Baisden, her sons, Clinton White and William Edward White, her sisters, Maxine Snyder and Barbara Johnson, her grandchildren, Edith Louise (Arnie) Vance, Michelle (Jimmy) Hynd, Vanessa Nicole (James) Cisco, Brandon Edwin (Brittany) White, and Melissa white, her great-grandchildren, Mika, Cory, Destiny, Lexie, Nathan, Luke, Grace, Presleigh, Saylor, A.J., and Haley, and her great-great-grandchildren, Wesley, Dawson, Ella, Tate, Karter, and Kohen. Edith also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Virgie Childress, her special niece, Jennifer, and a host of other loving family members and friends. Services for Edith will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 with visitation being from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. and a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be to follow at the Lenore Memorial Gardens in Lenore, West Virginia. Pallbearers will consist of family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Trinity of Mingo and Tug Valley Appalachian Regional Medical Center for their outstanding care for Edith in her last moments.
