Billy Ray Collins Jr.

Billy Ray Collins Jr., 53, of Frankfort, KY, formally of Delbarton, WV, passed to his heavenly home March 4, 2025. Billy was born Mar. 5, 1971 in Williamson, WV, the son of the late Billy Ray Collins Sr. and Louise Gregory. The light in his chest could not be held any longer, so the Lord released it and called his soul to rest after a long battle with cancer. Billy was an avid gamer and Dr. Who fan. He had quite the collection of Dr. Who t-shirts and his wife often joked that when Bill wore them in public weirdos and strangers would approach them and start talking about Dr. Who, which always delighted him. Bill also loved any and all things to do with drone racing. Billy was a disabled coal miner and member of Duncan Fork United Baptist Church. Billy was a kind soul and all-around good man despite a childhood that should have made him anything but. Bill was preceded in death by his father Billy Ray Collins Sr. of Chattaroy, WV; sisters, Linda Price of Louisville, KY and Joy Collins Stumbo of Williamson, WV; his father-in-law and best friend Joseph "Joby" Justice of Bias, WV; his step-father-in-law Edgar Williams of Bias, WV and his stepfather, Darrell James "Butch" Gregory of Williamson, WV. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years, Evone Justice Collins of Frankfort, KY. One son, whom was the greatest pride in Bill's life, Ashley "Ash" (Paula) Collins of Frankfort, KY; The light of his life, his granddaughter Reagan; the sister he chose for himself, Angie (Coby) Crum of Ragland, WV; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Justice Williams of Bias, WV; mother, Louise Price Gregory of Williamson, WV; sister, Lisa (Jimmy) Hensely of Chattaroy, WV; brother Nicky Collins and a host of nieces and nephews. Bill often said that he did not have a real family until he married into one. He referred to his special group of cousins as his coven. These cousins include Angie (Coby) Crum of Ragland, WV, Luther Dale Workman of Bluefield, WV, Drema (Tony) Colangelo of Rogersville, TN and Sabrina Workman of Bluefield, WV. They were a great source of love and support during his final days. Several Aunts and Uncles from his wife's side of the family as well. "His Wolfpack Cubies" Chistopher Hammond of Williamson, WV; Joseph (Tarah) Bucci; Justin "Boo" (Kelsielyn) Crocker of Oneonta, AL. In addition to his human family, Bill leaves behind his K-9 companion, Waffles. As per Bill's request there will be no services, just committal at the Runyon-Hunt Cemetery at Bias, WV with graveside prayer being led by Elder Eddie Layne. Pallbearers; Luther Dale Workman, Tony Colangelo, Coby Crum, Chris Hammond, Joseph Bucci, and Justin "Boo" Crocker. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators. They are the wonderful hospice team in Frankfort, KY that took care of Bill in his final days. Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton, WV is proudly serving the Collins family. Bill wanted to leave with you this quote from Dr. Who; "We're all stories, in the end just make it a good one." Indeed
