Barbara Ann Thomas

Barbara Ann Thomas, often known as “Coo Coo”, departed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 while at St. Mary’s Medical Center at the age of 72, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 12, 1952 to the late Albert Hunt and Haley Fouch Hunt. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 ½ years, Douglas Thomas, her baby, Patricia Ann Thomas, her step-dad, Okey Dillon, her half sister, Nancy Revel Ferrell, her brother, Thomas Hunt and his wife Onida, and her unborn grandchild. Barbara was well known for her loving attitude. She loved with her whole heart and made it her mission in life to care for everyone around her. She wanted to make sure everyone around was happy, healthy, safe, and loved, and she worked her hardest to make that happen. She was always someone that you could call for help at any time. Those who knew her, knew that if you were hungry, she would feed you; if you were cold, she would give you her coat; if there was any way she could help, she would do it. Barb was a God Fearing woman who loved Jesus more than anything. She loved going to church and serving The Lord; she was a dedicated prayer warrior. The lights of her life were her beloved children and grandbabies. Barb lived a long, beautiful life as devout homemaker, mother, and mighty woman of God. She will be missed by all who knew her. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, Douglas (Leeanna) Thomas Jr, her daughter, Jessica (Ronnie) Sears, her brothers, David (Charlene) Hunt, Benny Hunt, Charles Michael (Brenda) Hunt, and Billy (Tonga) Hunt, her grandchildren, Emily, Zachary (Peyton), Keegan, Cyara, Brayden, Khloe, Aaliyah, and Kinsley, her great grandson, Finnley, and a great granddaughter on the way. She also leaves behind her church family at A New Beginning Community Church and Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services for Barb will take place at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, West Virginia with visitation being held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be the following day, beginning at 1:00 PM with Brother Frank Marcum officiating. Burial will be to follow at the Verner Community Cemetery; friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Chafin Funeral Home is proudly serving the family.
