Elder Albert "Jib" Cable

The dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Elder Albert “Jib” Cable, age 76, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, March 1, 2024 while at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to the late Ballard and Lottie Cable on October 17, 1947 in Lenore, WV. Elder Albert is escorted into his eternal heavenly home by those who raised him, Elder Willie White and Chloe White, father-in-law Isom Hannah, mother-in-law Alfie Hannah, brothers Roger Cable James White, Frank White, and George Trivette, sister Beula Cable, and many other friends and family members. To honor and cherish his memory, he leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years Brenda Cable, his two sons David Cable and Roger (Cora) Cable, his two daughters Linda (Jimmy) Workman and Marlene (James) McDonald, his grandchildren Anthony Hall, James Robert McDonald II, Kayla Bryant, Chad Hundley, Shaw Hundley, Tyler Copley, Clay Copley, Brittany Collins, Maranda Workman, Logan Sanders, Casey Brewer, and Brian Cable, his 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and wonderful friends. For many years, Elder Albert worked for the West Virginia State Park, caring and tending to the local parks. He was a Godly man, doing everything for Jesus. He began his walk with God on December 8, 1996, where he was baptized and became a member of the Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church and remained there for the rest of his years. He held a strong faith, always doing God’s work. He loved being at church and being able to visit with the sick. In his free time, he enjoyed going fishing and especially spending time at Cheech’s, drinking coffee and catching up with friends. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation for Elder Albert will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Chafin Funeral Home from 6:00pm-9:00pm with a special service at 7:00pm. Those officiating include Elders Lacey Fletcher, Ron Gannon, Todd Dials, and Brother David Marcum. The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home church, Bethany Old Regular Baptist, at 1:00pm with Elders Tom Dials, Hobert Hamilton, and David May officiating. Burial will be to follow at the Hannah Cemetery. We at Chafin Funeral Home offer our dearest condolences to the family. We are proud to serve them and honor the life of Elder Albert “Jib” Cable.
